But seriously, I don't like playing favorites with recipes, but, a good egg roll in a bowl is definitely one of my favorite meals ever.

The ingredients needed to make Momma's egg rolls:
  1. Take 1 package egg roll wrappers
  2. Make ready 2 handfulls of shredded carrots (10 if your trump)
  3. Make ready 1 head cabbage
  4. Prepare 1 lb sausage
  5. Get 1 egg
  6. Take 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  7. Take 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  8. Make ready 1 splash soy sauce
  9. Take 1 splash lime
  10. Take 1/2 tablespoon grated Ginger
  11. Prepare 1 package shiitake mushrooms

Chinese egg rolls are a great snack or starter for any Asian style meal. Place egg rolls into heated oil and fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels or rack. Put on serving plate and top with sesame seeds if desired.

Steps to make Momma's egg rolls:
  1. Brown sausage, break it up into the smallest crumbles you can
  2. Season the sausage with garlic, ginger, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and lime.
  3. Set sausage aside to cool
  4. Slice cabbage super fine, and put it in a mixing bowl
  5. Add grated carrots, you can put more or less depending on preference.
  6. Slice shiitake mushrooms super thinly and add to the mixture
  7. Add the cooled sausage and mix thoroughly.
  8. Place egg roll wrapper in front of you with a corner pointing towards you.
  9. Put a small hand full of the filling in the middle of the wrapper
  10. Tightly wrap the bottom corner over the filling
  11. Take each side corner and tuck them in securely
  12. Beat the egg and paint it on the edges of the top corner of the egg roll wrap(this will help it seal)
  13. Continue to roll the wrap all the way up, keeping it as tight as possible
  14. Heat your oil until a drop of water sizzles instantly
  15. Put egg rolls in oil a few at a time and fry until golden brown.

Remove from oil and drain on paper towels or rack. Put on serving plate and top with sesame seeds if desired. Shrimp Egg Roll Thin & Crispy Pizza The Kitchen Whisperer.
