  1. Get 1 ltr full cream milk
  2. Take 1/2 cup gobind bhog rice
  3. Prepare 1 cup Dates and jaggery
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp raisins
  5. Take As needed Cashew nut, for garnishing

Prepared with an aromatic short grain rice and date palm jaggery. So when my brother visited us a few months back, Mom sent quite a bulk. Instructions to make Khejur Gurer Payesh | Bengali Rice Pudding:
  1. Soak raisins in warm water. Wash the rice and keep it aside.
  2. Heat the milk in a pan on medium flame. Bring it to a boil and then reduce the flame. Stir regularly.
  3. After the milk reduces a little, add the rice.
  4. Boil the rice on low flame till it softens. Keep stirring gently to release the starch from the rice.
  5. When the rice is cooked, turn the heat off and add the gur. Stir gently.
  6. Add the soaked raisins.
  7. Allow it to cool down. Garnish with cashews and serve.
