Made simply from rice flour, it becomes the perfect vehicle to mop up delicious curries like Veg Kurma or enjoy it sweet along with sweetened coconut milk for breakfast / tiffin.

The ingredients needed to make String hoppers / Idiyappam Delight:
  1. Prepare 10 idiyappam / String hoppers (without grated coconut)
  2. Prepare 2 egg
  3. Prepare 1 Onionchopped
  4. Make ready 1 Capsicum chopped
  5. Prepare 1 Teaspoon soya sauce
  6. Get To Taste salt
  7. Prepare 1 Teaspoon pepper powder
  8. Take 1 Teaspoon oil
  9. Prepare 1 Tablespoon spring onion chopped

SERVING: String hoppers is mainly goes with, Kiri Hodi (White coconut gravy), Pol Sambola (Coconut Mix with chili), Maalu Ambulthiyal or Chicken Curry. We call this dish "Idiyappam" and it is a popular breakfast dish in Kerala. Kerala and Srilanka have very old connections and maybe some ancestors. How to make Idiyappam - These delicate lacy string hoppers as they are also known are great served with any curry or stewed dishes.

Instructions to make String hoppers / Idiyappam Delight:
  1. First make scrambled egg.Set aside
  2. Scramble string hoppers.
  3. In a frypan heat some oil and saute onion and capsicum for 4 to 5 mints. Now add soya sauce and salt to this.
  4. Add scrambled string hoppers,egg and pepper & toss to coat well.
  5. Garnish with spring onion.
