Hello everybody, it’s Brad, welcome to my recipe site. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a distinctive dish, hot tofu (yudōfu). One of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious.

Hot Tofu (Yudōfu) is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It is simple, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. Hot Tofu (Yudōfu) is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

How to Prepare Hot Tofu (Yudofu). This dish is unbelievably easy and the only ingredients you need are just kombu and tofu. Just make a savory umami-rich broth using kombu and then add some tofu. This is a dish of Tofu that is simply heated in Water, often with a piece of Kombu.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook hot tofu (yudōfu) using 9 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Hot Tofu (Yudōfu):
  1. Make ready 500-600 g ‘Momen’ Tofu *medium soft type, cut into large pieces
  2. Prepare Water
  3. Prepare 5 cm Kombu (Kelp) *optional
  4. Prepare <Sauce>
  5. Make ready 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  6. Take 2 tablespoons Mirin
  7. Make ready 2 tablespoons Sake (Rice Wine)
  8. Prepare 1 sachet (2.5 g) Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes)
  9. Take 1 Spring Onion *finely chopped

Tofu warmed up in a bowl of hot water lightly seasoned with a strip of kombu, and Take a look at a typical yudofu meal in Kyoto. Basically, the idea is to make stock using dashi kombu, and then throw some tofu in. Of course you are welcome to add any vegetables. Yudofu (Tofu Hot Pot) is one of the simplest tofu dishes and the simplest hot pot.

Instructions to make Hot Tofu (Yudōfu):
  1. Place Water and Kombu in a pot, gently place Tofu, and add more Water just enough to cover. Slowly heat over medium heat. When started boiling, it’s ready to serve. *Note: Do not boil Tofu for too long.
  2. Meanwhile, make Sauce. Heat Soy Sauce, Mirin and Sake (Rice Wine) in a saucepan over medium heat, and bring to the boil. After gently boiling for 1 minute, add Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes) and remove from the heat. Add Spring Onion.
  3. Pick up Hot Tofu using a slotted spoon or small skimmer, and enjoy with the Sauce. *Note: You may wish to add Shichimi (Japanese Chilli Spice Mix) and grated Ginger.

Of course you are welcome to add any vegetables. Yudofu (Tofu Hot Pot) is one of the simplest tofu dishes and the simplest hot pot. When I feel like a quick light meal in cold winter, I always settle with yudofu. This is also a perfect vegetarian dish. Give our recipe for Hot Tofu or Yudofu a try for a simple and wholesome meal.
