The ingredients needed to make Stuffed Tinda (Apple Gourd):
  1. Prepare 8 small sized Tinda
  2. Make ready For stuffing –
  3. Make ready 1 tbspn Roasted powdered sesame
  4. Make ready 1 tbspn Grated fresh coconut
  5. Prepare 1 pinch Asafoetida
  6. Take 1 tsp Red chilli pwder
  7. Take Salt
  8. Make ready 1/4 tspn Turmeric powder
  9. Take 1 tspn Coriander powder
  10. Take For grinding –
  11. Get 1 medium to large size tomato
  12. Make ready 2 green chillies
  13. Get 1/2 inch Ginger
  14. Prepare Curry leaves
  15. Get 1 and 1/2 tsp Fresh cream(malai)
  16. Get Curd 1tb spn (optional)
  17. Take Extra ingredients –
  18. Take Oil
  19. Prepare 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  20. Take to taste Salt
  21. Take Jaggery small piece (optional)
  22. Take 1/2 tspn Garam masala
Instructions to make Stuffed Tinda (Apple Gourd):
  1. Wash and dry tindas, peel and slit them slightly vertically and Horizontally like a cross. Remove any hard seeds from it keep it a side.
  2. For stuffing mix all the ingredients of stuffing if it is looking dry add few drops of oil in it. Stuff this mixture in tindas and leave them for minimum 15 minutes. Keep some stuffing mixture a side.
  3. Transfer all the grinding ingredients in mixer jar and grind it in a fine paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan,add cumin seeds when it crackle add tomato paste in it and stir it till oil separates from it. Place stuffed tindas in it and 1/2 cup of water close the lid. Keep some water on lid.. Allow it to cook on slow flame.
  5. Check it carefully in between.. When tindas cooked 80% add garam masala, Jaggery, salt(if nessesary) and stuffing mixture. Hold the handle of pan and rotates it slowly.
  6. Again cover it and cook it fully. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and grated coconut.
