  1. Peel and core the apples. Cut into either wedges or cubes as you like. Put in a bowl with the other ingredients and toss well. Keep aside.
  2. Take the milkmaid in a saucepan with the  butter and cook on a low heat for 5-8 mins till a kind of creamy texture appears. Let it cool. Add vanilla if required.
  3. Now,for the topping, in a mixing bowl, open enough to mix, add the dry ingredients add mix well. Put the cold butter and press it into the dry mixture, or you can press it with a fork and knead it into a crumbly mixture. As i had not enough butter, i used ghee(clarified butter) around 3-4  tablespoons.
  4. For the assembling, in a greased pie tray or round baking tin, roughly layer the apple pieces evenly first. Then pour generously the cream layer over them covering well. Finally sprinkle with hands the topping onto the layer to cover entirely the base. Bake at 350°F or 180°C for 45-50 mins till top is crisp and Golden Brown.
  5. Trust me it will smell awesome!! Serve with ice cream vanilla or whipped cream drizzled with any dessert sauce. Caramel tastes best. Try with my sauce!
